I have a late 80''s model Larson with a 302....The engine will start and run as long as you hold the key in the start position but dies as soon as you let the key return to the run position. I have replaced the ignition switch and the same thing happens. I know nothing about boats so any help would be great

Hello,

It sounds like you have a wire on the wrong terminal in the key switch. Can you tell me how many terminals you have on the back of the switch, then what color wires are attached to them. The magneto wire I think is on the solenoid terminal.

Thanks

Pat
